I stated the other day that I started a project about a year ago where I wanted gather photos of abandoned areas and graffiti from around my area. Here is another shoot from that project.
These shots are from an abandoned railroad track that leads to the “Canal District” in Downtown Nashua. The process of getting the shots were almost impossible. Since there weren’t any streets that went along the tracks, I had to take my mountain bike down the tracks, which was a feat in itself. I hope you enjoy this project, because it was an extreme challenge to get the shots.
Some graffiti marks may relate to gangs, but I believe that the art is just that. Art. Some of the designs that people create and the time they take to create it is just amazing. That could be a lie at the same time, sometimes they need to rush to create the paintings, but in that case it is even more amazing.
One thing I did differently with this project is that I edited the heck out of these pictures. Usually, I’ll just throw some auto exposure on it and be done. This time I went all Picnik1 on them and went crazy with all kinds of fun effects.
